St. Joseph's Province, Missionaries of Compassion

St. Joseph’s Province – Missionaries of Compassion

The Missionaries of Compassion, founded in 2003 by Rev. Dr. Jose Kaimlett, are a Catholic religious institute rooted in the Gospel call to live and share Christ’s compassion. Their motto, “Do as I have done” (Jn 13:15), expresses a mission of service to the poor, sick, and marginalized.

Within this institute, St. Joseph’s Province, based in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, India, embodies the charism through three main pillars:

  • Pastoral Ministry: Priests and collaborators serve parishes, offering liturgical leadership, catechesis, and spiritual accompaniment, with special attention to youth and families.
  • Education: Schools and hostels provide quality education to children from poor and rural backgrounds, fostering holistic growth through language training, workshops, and empowerment programs.
  • Healthcare & Social Outreach: The Good Samaritan Cancer & General Hospital offers affordable medical care, especially for cancer patients and the underprivileged, while social initiatives provide food, housing, and support for women and children.

The province’s vision is deeply spiritual: discipleship is measured by compassion, expressed in concrete acts of mercy. By uniting pastoral care, education, and healthcare, St. Joseph’s Province becomes a living witness of the Gospel, transforming lives and communities with hope and service.

✨ In short: St. Joseph’s Province is a beacon of “compassion in action,” integrating faith, education, and healthcare to embody Christ’s mercy in today’s world.
