St. Joseph's Province, Missionaries of Compassion
The Ministry of Care for Children through Schools and Hostels is a joyful and life-giving mission of the Missionaries of Compassion. Rooted in the love of Christ and a deep concern for the future of every child, this ministry is dedicated to nurturing, educating, and protecting children—especially those from poor or marginalized backgrounds—by providing them with safe homes and quality education.
Many children face obstacles such as poverty, neglect, lack of access to education, and unstable family situations. Through schools and hostels, the Missionaries of Compassion offer children a strong foundation for life, where learning, discipline, and love go hand in hand. These institutions become places of hope, helping children dream, grow, and discover their God-given potential.
Education provided in the Missionaries of Compassion schools aims at the holistic development of the child. Along with academic excellence, strong emphasis is placed on moral values, character formation, and respect for others. Children are encouraged to develop responsibility, compassion, and a sense of service, preparing them to become caring and responsible members of society.
The hostels run by the Missionaries of Compassion offer more than shelter. They provide a nurturing, family-like environment where children receive proper care, nutritious meals, emotional support, and guidance. Special attention is given to children who are orphaned, semi-orphaned, or whose families are unable to provide a stable and safe living situation.
In these hostels, children are loved, protected, and accompanied as they grow—helped to heal from past wounds and to build confidence for the future.
This ministry serves children regardless of religion, caste, or social background. With special concern for the poorest and most vulnerable, the Missionaries of Compassion strive to create inclusive environments where every child is respected and valued.
Through this ministry, the Missionaries of Compassion continue to express God’s tender love—educating minds, nurturing hearts, and accompanying children toward a brighter, more dignified future.
