The Founder

“Father Jose Kaimlett (1941-2018) born at Palakattumala in the diocese of Palai, Kerala, India, was a great missionary priest of our times. Holder of doctorate in Canon Law, he was a great visionary who has been contributing enormously to the Catholic Church and to the society at large both as a missionary and as a philanthropist. He is the founder of three religious congregations: Heralds of Good News (HGN), Sisters of Good News (SGN) and Missionaries of Compassion (MC) besides the establishment of numerous social, educational and healthcare institutions in India and abroad.

Fr. Jose was quite different from many of his contemporaries in his thinking and acting. He was quite unique and original in many ways. One of the striking aspects of his personality is that he always attempted to make a very fruitful combination of his brain and heart. His altruistic and humanitarian concerns were founded on divine inspiration and daring initiatives even in the midst of adverse situations. He always dared to care for the integral development of all the people around him even when they disregarded him.

His utter trust in the divine providence and his daring initiatives indicate us to commit ourselves and our lives to worthwhile causes of the larger human society founded on a solid and secure self-awareness.
